State of Fear ---
This thriller is not Crichton's best read, but the concepts it presents (through the rather prosaic musings of his characters/puppets) are very thought provoking.
I think this should at least be read by the Greenpeace-niks or the bp-ad writers to at least balance some of the thoughts. A lot of science facts are mere conjectures that are proven false later, such as eugenics as Crichton mentions in his book.
